Smoking or chewing tobacco is one of the more common reasons for why someone would experience discolorations on their teeth. There are also other health issues that can result from tobacco use.

Reason #3 – not brushing or flossing regularly

When someone does not brush or floss their teeth on a regular basis, it can easily lead to their having teeth that are not as white and bright as they can be.

Reason #4 – disease diagnosis

There are many diseases that can negatively affect a tooth’s enamel, which is going to eventually lead to various levels of tooth discoloration. Treatments that include radiation or chemotherapy can also lead to additional discoloration in the teeth.

Reason #5 – taking certain medications

There are certain medications, like tetracycline, that are known to cause discoloration in the teeth of people consuming these antibiotics. Antihistamines can also cause the same effect as well as some mouthwashes that contain chlorhexidine.
